This story will be based on A kid living in L.A. who has his whole future lined up. Hes a great student, A Profound Althlete and a Prospect for the Freternity Gamma Nu Gamma. But when his brother is killed by a local gang his life is twisted in another direction. He faces the delima of defending his brothers honor or continuing his life as a college bound sucess. It is now up to Kenny To be his brothers keeper. In this paper i am wondering what route he should take, should he become a gang banger and defend his brother or should he keep on with his good future. the reason i am writing this story is because there are alot of things in life that my influence the way that people go about there future and These are one when my brother was shot, and the arrested i did not go about it wrong those where his misteks not mine. and so i wathch closely and took in what not to do in those situations and to just be the person that i am. but in this short story the question is will Kenny take that same path of will his emotions get the best of his, and result to a life thats not worth living. which way should i take the ending of this story? should i incorparate the life of his brother tyrone in the story? what other properities should i put into my paper?

Growing up in the Mean streets Of Watts in L.A, A young man has to find his life By Making the write choices. As a gang member and a Convicted felon at the age of 18 Kareem Johnson has to make a turn around so that he dose not end up like his brother. This Narrative I’m am writing is about a young man who has all the opportunities given to him but still chooses to make the wrong choices in his life.

The location Watts L.A., the main Characters a man By the Name of Kareem Johnson, Kareem is an honor roll student in high school, an all-state middle line backer, and a national track runner. Kareem had ambitions of attend and playing football for a Division 1 university, but all that changed when his brother was brutally murdered in a drive by shooting attend for him. Now he has to continue the good life that his brothers was to proud of him for. Or Revenge his brother and the pride of his gang.

            This story will be a Spin off of my research paper in tilted The Light. In this story I will show you just how my life would have been if I did not make the right choices.

In the book “In Cold Blood” The author Truman Capote uses research to tell his story by discussing all of the points leading up until the murders. Such as when he talks of  Kenyon Cuttler he tells the reader that Kenyon is fifteen and is interested in cars and tinkering with inventions, but not in girls. The only way he could have known this is if he has done his research in order to conclude to these facts.

            Another is when he talks of Perry Smith he uses a lot of his child hood and up bringing. He talks of Smiths mother, who was an alcoholic, his siblings who committed suicide and the mental and emotional state after his motorcycle accident and surroundings. He had to discuss these terms and other information with different family members and court officials to get all of the indicated information.

            The first quote in the book that I like is when he talks of “This will be their last day, their last apple pie” (Capote, In Cold Blood). This is what he dose to keep the irony involved in the book and keep the suspense going. The second quote is on page 321 when Dick says, “So hot my skin stings” (Capote, In Cold Blood). That was Capote’s way if helping you feel how hot the cell was. He put a great deal of realism into the story.

The quote I’m incorporating in this story is Malcolm X’s quote “Power never takes a back step – only in the face of more power” (Malcolm X, Malcolm X Speaks, 1965). Because it reminds me that you can have your life taken at any minute but you must grow with power. This power to me is knowledge which is obtained by research. The second quote is one by Martin Luther King Jr. its says, “Every man must decide whether he will walk in the light of creative altruism or in the darkness of destructive selfishness” (BrainyQuote.com/Martin Luther King Jr.). The reason I incorporated this one it because to me Smith chose to walk in the wrong light and that put him where he is today.

The Name of my Research paper is entitled the “The Light” based on the topic I’m writing about “The way that an organization can help you find yourself in life.” The reason that this is important to me is because of the stride it gave me to succeed in life and wants to help change the views of college in my community. Another thing was the neglect that people display toward the study of black history, and I want to enlighten as many people as possible about the service and impact that this organization has had on America. I plan to use my personal experiences before I came to college and the turning point in my life to display the way this organization has inspired me to leave my mark on the world. I also plan to use interviews from actual members of the Organization and Articles. My Objectives or goals are to in from people on these questions 1.what ways can I help change my communities view on college 2. How many people know what this organization has done for the United States? 3. What other organizations have branched off from the idea of this and concept? 4. What ways has this organization changed me as a person? 5. What historical and non-historical leaders have emerged from this organization? In her to state the thesis Of Since 1906 the Brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Inc has been providing the community with service and love for over 100 years. One of the turning points in my life was when I witnessed my brother’s actions, kill my cousin. Here is a small piece of a paper I wrote called “Life is to Short”, “One day as I was walking home I watched a red car fly so fast down the street it was almost if Satin was running the forty yard dash down the road. Just as I was watching my cousin was thrown out of the car with his face looking as though the skin was torn from it almost resembled a pizza.  The only question or concern I have about my research topic is what aspect of the Organization I should focus on. The Reason I am Curious about this topic is because I am big into history, especially African American history and the organization of Alpha Phi Alpha has contributed a lot to black history.  The thing  that has lead me to write about this topic is the members that are on campus here at IUP they show great leadership and service to the university and that I find to be a way of changing society.

Regarding my topic I have read a few books that explain than history and the achievement of this organization. My research is different is because I can focus on many different aspects of it from contribution, history, economy, and service.

The contribution that my research would make is by educating people on the history and accomplishments of African Americans.
